Former YALI fellow urges the Namibian youth to apply for the online YALI cohort programmes for 2021 in order to accelerate their leadership and entrepreneurial impacts.
Speaking to Biashara newspaper, Festus Malakia, a YALI fellow and former beneficiary of this programme said that this programme provides young adults with an opportunity to expand their leadership skills and enrich the way they mobilize others.
“The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) was launched in 2015 as a signature effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders. I was fortunate enough to be part of this initiative; the impact it has on future leaders and entrepreneurs is massive” Malakia said
Malakia added that YALI promotes three models which are designed to identify and empower young leaders: the YALI Mandela Washington Fellowship, YALI Network and Regional Leadership Centers across Africa. Having attended this in-depth YALI leadership training at UNISA School of Business Leadership in Midland, Malakia inspires fellow youths to participate in this once in a lifetime golden opportunity which can have a lasting positive impact on their lives.
“This programmes are fully funded, from transport, training to accommodation, all you need to do is go out there, explore, make an impact and get certified. This program equips you with the essential tools to build strong relationships with your team, increase engagement and shape a culture of high performance” Malakia emphasized.
The four YALI Regional Leadership Centers (RLCs) provide in-person and online training throughout the year in business and entrepreneurship, civic leadership and public management. They also offer opportunities for professional development and networking. Application for 8 March – 30 April 2021 is now open.
