Award-winning artist Albert Uulenga known by his stage name “Mushe” told Biashara newspaper that he wants to be the biggest chicken and egg supplier in Namibia. “When you still have the chance of drawing crowds you need to invest the money and this is one of the ventures that I have started as a business,” he said.
While some chicken farms handle both meat production and egg-laying, Omunangeshefa Poultry focuses on chicken, chicks and eggs sale. With over two years in the poultry industry, Mushe said the business is now able to deliver its products to all corners of Namibia. He added that he started with very few chickens however, the number has since increased in the past two years.
“We started with few chicks here in Ondangwa because other coarse runs were still under construction but now they are done; we have since experienced a growth in the number of chickens in our farm and we are now able to supply chicks and eggs countrywide,” he said.
Mushe said that eggs are a useful source of vitamin D, which help to protect bones and prevent osteoporosis and rickets. The musician believes that the poultry project will cater for many households needs while emphasizing that people can also buy chicks for farming purposes.
People can order their products from Omunangeshefa poultry by calling +264 81 229 7881 or by visiting the business area in Ondangwa. The business is also mobile and ready to deliver countrywide.
