2nd edition of the Okalongo Youth Expo set for the 14th -23rd of December 2020

Trade fairs and expos come and go, but few places have enjoyed or endured as much of a legacy as Okalongo has from its remarkable hosting of last year’s Okalongo Youth Expo. The event has been widely hailed by many as the start of the young town’s transformation from a sleepy little town into the big metropolis it is today.

Hosted for the first time in 2019, the Okalongo Youth Expo is a flagship business to business (B2B) event organized by Okalongo Youth Foundation, to offer local exhibitors a chance to present their innovative products and services. The 2nd edition of the event starts on the 14th to the 23rd of December 2020 at the iconic venue of Okalongo Business Expo Centre.

Speaking to Biashara newspaper, the Okalongo Youth Expo founder, Hendrick Johannes said that the event aims to explore different possibilities of creating employment for the young people by availing to them a platform to promote, create awareness and sell their products and services.

“The challenge for the youth in Namibia is unemployment and this event will make them realize that they cannot just sit and wait for jobs to be offered to them. It will open their minds on how to deal with competitors in the market and also help them to expose their hidden talents” Hendrick added

Stalls for food & beverages, clothing, farming & agricultural products, photographers, kiddies’ corners and arts and other products, go for N$500. Hendrick invites everyone to come and sell whatever they are producing, at this event.  “All legal products are welcome to be sold at this event”, he added. Deadline for stall booking is the 10th of December 2020.

Hendrick added that this is a unique opportunity for all business people. He believed that while many people come to network with colleagues and peers, they will automatically visit the exhibition. “As an exhibitor, you will have the unique opportunity to market your products and services to a captive audience of buyers, designers and influencing researchers” he added.

Exhibit hours for this event have been arranged to give exhibitors maximum exposure. Social functions have been planned in the exhibit area so that delegates meet on both a social and business level.

The night of December 22, 2020, will be a big one for one lucky lady, as organizer will hand over the title of Miss Okalongo Youth Expo to one beautiful lady, with a brand new crown that will be unveiled at the competition.
